Jasmin Sturm

Jasmin Sturm moved to Warkworth from Auckland city 6 years ago and loves the rural and outdoor lifestyle of the Rodney district. She has two children, and has had a keen interest in natural health since the birth of her daughter 19 years ago.

Jasmin says "As a small baby my daughter would get a cough repeatedly, and I was very concerned that she would develop asthma like her father (who is a chronic asthmatic), so I took her to a homeopath, and treated her with homoeopathy as well as dietary modification (and later, herbal and nutritional supplements) and she hasn’t developed asthma."

Jasmin is both a qualified naturopath and medical herbalist - both diplomas received from South Pacific College of Natural Therapies (SPCNT) in 1999. She also holds a Bachelor of Health Science in Complementary Medicine, which included papers in nutritional biochemistry and microbiology.

Jasmin’s continued passion for natural health has inspired her to complete many other courses and gain certificates in Bowen Therapy, Reiki, Iridology and Body Harmony.

Jasmin worked at SPCNT for seven years and her positions included being Deputy Principal for four years, as well as teaching naturopathy, herbal materia medica, as well as preparing the final year students for their clinical practicum. She also held the position of Clinic Director setting up the student clinic from scratch and overseeing all the final year students to ensure they completed all requirements to become a professional practitioner.

Jasmin recently completed a Graduate Diploma in Primary School Teaching, but has chosen to return to her passion of natural health, as this is where she feels she can make a difference with the health of people in Warkworth.

Jasmin is a member of the New Zealand Society of Naturopaths (NZSON) and regular attends seminars to keep her up to date with new research and products on the market.
